At DJB Electrical, we recently revisited a project in Burnham Overy Staithe, North Norfolk, where we helped our client enhance their coastal property’s outdoor living space. Following our previous installation of a submain supply to the summer house, this year’s work focused on extending power and lighting to the garden gazebo — creating the perfect setting for relaxing and entertaining all year round.
Last year, our qualified electricians installed a submain cable to safely power the client’s summer house. This setup provided reliable electricity for lighting, sockets, and entertainment systems — all designed and tested to meet BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
This year, we returned to install an additional SWA (steel-wired armoured) cable to feed the new gazebo area. Using the correct cable size and protective devices ensures a safe, efficient system that’s suitable for outdoor electrical installations exposed to the North Norfolk weather.
To elevate the space, we fitted colour-changing LED strip lighting that the client can control remotely. These energy-efficient, IP-rated LED lights are perfect for outdoor use, providing everything from subtle warm tones to vibrant party colours at the touch of a button.
We also installed outdoor heating circuits, complete with RCD protection, so the gazebo remains warm and inviting during cooler evenings — ideal for autumn barbecues and social gatherings by the coast.
